RootClan's camp is to the northwest, in the thickest part of the jungle. They are skilled tree-climbers and often hunt above the ground, and their camp is settled within the hollows of a copse of strangler fig roots.
RootClan's camp sits in a corpse of strangler fig roots, the trees within mostly rotted away. It surrounds a small clearing, where the fresh-kill pile and the entrances to the other hollows are easily reached. The outside edges of camp are surrounded by thorny vines, arranged by the warriors for extra protection, and allowing only two primary entrances; one into the main clearing, and one out the back for their dirtplace(bathroom, basically; all camps have this).
The main hollows within the fig roots are the apprentices' den, the warriors' den, the elders' den, and the nursery. Most of the holes in the roots are periodically patched over with vegetation to keep it from getting too wet within, and the nursery is fortified with extra thorny vines.
At the far end of the clearing is the ruins of a small human settlement, ancient and grown over with vines. It isn't much more than a pile of rubble, at this point, but there is enough space within to fit two more dens safely; at the base, the medicine cat den, where they sleep, keep the sick, and store their herbs. Above that, the leader's den, where they sleep, hold private meetings, and give announcements to the clan.
An area of the river known to be frequented by boas and anacondas in the river, and vipers on the land nearby. Unfortunately, aside from ascending to the top of Misty Falls, this is one of the few places to cross the river safely-- by hopping along giant lilypads.
AshClan's camp resides in the grasslands to the northeast, closest to "Twoleg place"(human settlements). The territory is semiannually plagued by small wildfires during the dry season, and these cats excel at using it to their advantage in hunting. The camp is sparse and easily able to be picked up and moved in the case of emergency.
AshClan camp sits in a sparse dip in the flat grasslands, among a few large boulders the size of small boulders. The camp is surrounded on all sides by old dry branches and short scrubby grass; within the massively tall pampas grass of the grassland it makes it a bit difficult to find if you don't know where you're going. The center of the camp is all flattened sandy soil, with shallow hollows scraped out for storing fresh-kill and relaxing.
The apprentices and warriors nest near the edges of camp in groups, among nests of dry grasses. The elders' den is under a rocky overhang among some old branches, and the nursery is within the rocks itself, shielded from the worst weather.
A small den atop the pile is where the leader rests and gives their announcements, and a large den among some rocks at the farthest end of the camp is where the medicine cat lives and works.
A still, calm pond that capybara sometimes visit. They're far too large to hunt, but their presence tends to relax other prey and make them easy hunting. The pond isn't terribly deep, so it's nice to cool off in.
An old, half-rotted rope bridge spanning the river. This was abandoned long ago by twolegs and has fallen into disrepair, but a careful cat can cross it without too much issue.
MarshClan's camp is settled in the wetlands of the southwest, on one of the few points of high ground between a number of waterways. These cats specialize in swimming and hunting anything that lives in and around the water, and have been known to cover themselves in mud to better camouflage.
MarshClan's camp sits upon a hill between some of the major waterways on their territory, among the fallen trunks of old trees and roots torn up by flooding. Their camp is protected primarily by the water surrounding it, as most cats are uncomfortable trudging through the water and mud. Reeds and semiaquatic vines line the edges of the camp, forming a dense barrier. There is a wide clearing in the middle where prey is stored and cats may mingle.
Within and beneath the hollowed old trees are the dens of warriors, elders, and the nursery, fortified with vines and build up a little higher. The apprentice den lies behind the warrior's portion of the trunk, among the old branches for shelter.
At the far end of the camp, the remnant trunks of the fallen trees are tangled over with tropical vines and mosses, cleverly forming a tent over the hollowed top within it, where the leader's den is. The other trunk, more rotted out inside, is where the medicine cat stores their herbs and helps the ill.
SaltClan's camp is on the ocean shore to the southeast, sheltered by the thick trunks of palm trees. They're of the few cats that can brave the ocean waves to hunt, and are swiftest across the open sand.
SaltClan's camp is completely open to the air, with no discernable barriers or borders for protection. They rest at the upper edge of the beach sands, among the low palms, against the rotted hull of an abandoned wooden ship.
The apprentices and warriors have no sheltered dens, but instead make their nests in the sands with bedding of mosses and dried leaves just outside the entrance to the boat. Within, the elders claim a spot close to the entrance, and beyond a half-rotted wall the nursery is protected with spiny palm fronds cleverly threaded along the entryway.
The medicine cat den lies within the deepest point of hull, dim and barely lit with sunlight through the slats. The leader's den is on the opposite end, entry covered by palm fronds; when they make announcements or hold rituals, they climb to the top of the outside of the boat from a single-cat-sized entry hole in the back of their nest.
