Open your eyes.
The land you see is unfamiliar to you. You're not sure how you got here... or why you feel so small. You slowly move forward through the lush vegetation, scrunching your nose as your face nudges it aside. Past heavy trunks of trees and leaves larger than you could possibly imagine, casting dark shadows that seem to draw you further in. Under thick, twisting vines and over roots so mighty that you need to claw your way up them as they thrust out of the earth.

Far, far above the massive trees melt into impenetrable, silent darkness. There should be noise here, you realize; the land is far too dense to be this quiet. And yet... you don't feel alarmed. You feel the need to keep going onward, into the darkness, over the land so rich and warm and collapsed stones so ancient it almost sings to you. You can feel it under your skin, through your limbs, the tips of your whiskers(...?).

You eventually find the archway, only black shadow beyond. The song is strongest, here. You can't hear it, but you can feel it. One paw(paw?) after the other, you continue in, and when the darkness finally breaks you find yourself at the edge of a pool lined in stone within an ancient building, the ceiling long-collapsed and the stone covered in vine and moss. The sky above shines, free from the cover of the canopy and reflected in the water, sparkling as brightly as if all the galaxy had condensed right here.

Across from you, at the other end of the pool, stands a cat as glittering as the sky itself watching you with wide, hopeful eyes.

Please, they say. Their voice echoes, ghostly, within your head. Please. We need your help.

Sign ups will be screened.

Sign ups are now closed, thank you!

Characters will be randomly sorted into clans or other positions depending on the answers given to the questions on the sign-up sheet! Please see below:

Name:
Contact: Discord, plurk, email, or all three. Whichever is easiest to reach you at short notice if necessary. Please note that while the game plurk will be used, info will be primarily given through the discord server.

Character Name:
Approximate age: Generalize here by life experience level rather than number, like "teenager" or "young adult" or "elderly."
Canon:
Canon Point:
Summary: A brief summary of their personality, with character strengths and flaws. Please be as brief as possible; max 300 words. Bulletpoint list is also fine, but this is for the purposes of clan placement.
Skills: Of the mortal variety; is there anything they're particularly good at? Climbing, running, jumping, hand-to-hand combat, studying, memory, healing, etc.
Powers: Please list one or two non-natural superpowers or whatever and what it does, especially if it's vitally important to the character. Whether or not the power can be kept (in some way but almost certainly not its natural form) will heavily depend on whether or not I can make it fit into the "canon."

Are you willing to play this character in a villainous role? Y/N If applicable. Feel free to list any reasons or qualifications or whatever. Please note this does not guarantee a spot on any one clan.
Is there a specific position or role you'd like the character to play? i.e. would you rather play a housecat than a clan cat? a lost pet? a loner/rogue(stray)?
Is there anything specific you DON'T want? Any sort of relationships to npcs or other pcs you'd rather avoid, etc?

Cat details: What your character is going to look like. Keep it realistic to some extent.
Cat name: If you need a clan cat name and don't want to pick one for yourself, I will give you a list to choose from OR: pick the prefix word and I will finish the name for you. Please note for clan cats the suffix might change if they're an apprentice.

Will of the Stars is a panfandom isekai-ish Warrior Cats-based game that focuses heavily on plot, player vs environment, and player vs player/npc. This is a short-term game where death is permanent, and players must work with and against each other and NPCs in order to solve the problem at hand and do their best to save the Clans.

Knowledge of the canon is not required to play, and we'll be happy to answer any questions one may ask!

1. Warriors -- what is it?
Warriors is a long-running childrens' book series by Erin Hunter first published in 2003, and features housecats living wild outdoors in social groups called Clans as they fight and hunt to survive with the guidance of their spiritual ancestors in StarClan. There's prophecies and villains who try to take over the cat world and kill each other and stuff, it's wild.

2. How are characters going to fit into cat world?
StarClan is going to put everyone in cat bodies, isekai style. They then may receive prophecies in order to help solve the clan problems.

3. Are characters going to be cats 24/7?
There will be occasional dream sequences the characters can interact in together as their human forms(or whatever counts as their natural body), but for the most part they will be playing throughout the game as their cat selves. While in the dreamscape, characters are physically incapable of talking about prophecies or other plot-related details. Such information can only be traded in the living world.

4. What's the deal with the isekai cat bodies?
Characters' souls/spirits/consciousness/whatever are going to be transported into an already existing cat within the "story." Players will OOCly choose the cat's name, looks, and have some input on where they belong in the world, but they will receive some information related to their cat's "original self" such as relationships with other cats(both npcs or pcs).

5. What happens if a character gets hurt?
There are a variety of things that can harm your character or an npc: predators, vehicles, illness, other cats, the environment... many small events like predators or environmental issues will be decided by the mods via dicerolls.

Death is permanent and a dead cat will no longer be able to play within the "real life," though may appear within the dreamscape as their own spirit or as a StarClan cat. They are still beholden to the non-disclosure agreement though, haha.

6. What about characters with supernatural/etc canon powers?
Canon powers will be mostly gone. On a case-by-case basis, we may decide whether or not some aspect of a power may be kept dependent on how it can best interact with the world or plot.

7. What kind of characters can be apped?
Anybody, save for canon Warriors characters. So all other canons, tabletops, OCs, etc are all gucci.
